Privacy Policy
Effective September 8, 2026
The short version
- Patrimony has no server and no user accounts. Your balances and account data are stored only on your device by default.
- If you turn on sync, your data moves directly between your own devices through Apple iCloud (iOS, iPadOS, macOS) or your own Google Drive (Android, Windows, Linux) — never through a server we operate.
- We don't collect analytics, run ads, or use tracking SDKs of any kind.
- Face ID / Touch ID unlock is handled entirely by your device's operating system; we never see your biometric data.
- Because we never receive or store your financial data, there is nothing for us to sell, leak, or hand over in a breach.
Who we are
Patrimony is developed by Matriese, Gaversesteenweg 436, 9820 Merelbeke-Melle, Belgium ("Patrimony," "we," "us"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the Patrimony app on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, or Linux, or visit trackpatrimony.com.
Data stored on your device
Patrimony is local-first: the accounts, balances, and balance-history snapshots you enter are saved in a file on your device and are never transmitted to us. We don't operate a backend server that receives, stores, or processes your financial data. There is no sign-up, login, or account creation required to use the app.
Optional sync
Sync is off unless you turn it on, and even then, your data never passes through a server we control.
iCloud (iPhone, iPad, Mac)
On Apple platforms, sync uses Apple's CloudKit private database, tied to your iCloud account. Your data moves only between devices signed into the same iCloud account. It is encrypted in transit and at rest under Apple's iCloud terms, and Patrimony's developer has no access to it — see Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles iCloud data.
Google Drive (Android, Windows, Linux)
On these platforms, sync uses Google Sign-In and the Google Drive "app data" scope — a hidden folder that only Patrimony can read or write, invisible in your regular Drive file list and inaccessible to Patrimony's developer or to Google Drive's normal file-sharing features. We request only this scope, never general access to your Drive files. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data.
You can disconnect sync and delete the synced copy at any time from within the app, or by removing Patrimony's access from your iCloud or Google account settings directly.
Face ID / Touch ID
If you enable "Require Face ID," Patrimony asks your device's operating system to authenticate you before showing your balances. Your biometric data is processed entirely by iOS/Android/macOS on-device and is never accessible to Patrimony or transmitted anywhere.
What we don't collect
- No bank or brokerage account connections, credentials, or financial institution logins.
- No analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs inside the app.
- No cookies or tracking scripts on trackpatrimony.com beyond what's needed to serve the page.
- No sale or sharing of personal data — we don't have any to sell.
Data you import or export
Excel/CSV import and export happen entirely on your device using the file picker you control. Files you choose to import are read locally; files you export are written to a location you choose. We never see these files.
App Store and Play Store data
Apple and Google independently collect limited technical data (e.g., crash diagnostics, download and purchase records) under their own privacy policies when you download or purchase Patrimony. This is outside our control — see Apple's and Google's privacy policies for details.
Your rights
Because we don't collect, store, or process your personal data on any server we operate, there is generally nothing for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws — your data lives on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud or Google account, both of which you control directly. If you have questions about how a specific right applies to your use of Patrimony, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Patrimony is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children, consistent with the rest of this policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it prominently on this page or in the app's release notes.
